Conservation-minded vineyard, winery, & working farm

 

Left Coast is a 490-acre agricultural estate with a focus on ecological stewardship through winemaking. The company practices low-impact viticulture and 28% of the property is preserved as ecological compensation areas with 100 acres of Oregon White Oak savanna conserved and restored. Ongoing work includes masterplanning, habitat restoration, specifications for seed mixes and cover crops, and site design for guest amenities.

Residential garden & farm for stylist Emily Henderson

 

This magical 3-acre property at the edge of Portland, Oregon includes rambling meadows, mature trees, orchards, and historic outbuildings. Work included residential gardens, edible landscapes, a plunge pool, paddocks for the family’s alpacas and pigs and long-term plans for habitat restoration. A soothing palette of rust, blush, white and sage plants give cohesion to the property. Garden design was developed in tandem with Emily Henderson.

Rocky Mountain outpost for new hospitality brand

 

Trailborn: Rocky Mountains marks the brand launch of hospitality group, Trailborn, committed to design-forward hotels for adventurous types. The project spans across two hotel properties in Estes Park, Colorado at the gateway of Rocky Mountain National Park. Work included design of entry gardens, exterior public spaces, and two pool renovations, as well the design and construction of close to 100 pieces of furniture, largely built from ponderosa pines downed during demolition. In collaboration with our friends at Electric Bowery.

Oceanside glamping resort in an old growth Sitka Spruce forest

 

An intimate hideaway on the rugged Oregon coast, Two Capes Lookout is an immersive, year-round retreat. Straddling lush green forests and cliffside ocean views, the trees literally meet the sea on this stunning 58-acre property. Phase 1 of the project includes 15 geodesic domes, 4 mirrored cabins, two fire pit areas, and a check-in dome with yoga platform, waterfall, and sauna. Work included campus design and masterplanning, public space design, planting design, habitat restoration, and custom milling and furniture from onsite trees. In collaboration with our friends at Max Humphrey and OfficeUntitled.
